This unique throw was designed and crafted to celebrate the Bicentenary year of the Border Union Agricultural Society in 2013. The special plaid is unique to us and the rug is embroidered with the BUAS logo.
The rug is 140 x 165cm and made from 100% Kelso Cheviot Lambswool.
Just a limited number of this exclusive item remains.
The label reads:
“This rug has been commissioned to mark 200 years of continuous wool growing in the district of Kelso and the Scottish Borders. The wool has been specially collected by the British Wool Marketing Board from farms in the area, and is dyed, spun and woven by local firm Johnstons of Elgin. This special plaid was designed to reflect the colours of the countryside in which we live and work in the Borders, and is a lasting tribute to the production of our local farmers.”
