Official Statement issued by the Border Union Agricultural Society: Monday 30th March 2020, 18:30: Border Union Show 2020 - Cancellation

It is with deep regret and sadness that due to the deteriorating situation surrounding Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Border Union Agricultural Society Directors, Staff and Trustees, after taking careful account of the latest UK & Scottish Government and Public Health guidance, are today announcing the cancellation of the 2020 Border Union Show due to be held on July 24th & 25th.

As a responsible event organiser we take our public health responsibilities very seriously and with the Government advising against attending mass gatherings and further action relating to social distancing and self-isolation, the Society felt there was no other option in the interest of protecting all our competitors, exhibitors, members, partners, visitors and volunteers during this period of national public health uncertainty.

We hope to welcome you all back to the 2021 Border Union Show on Friday 30th & Saturday 31st July and we thank you all for your continued support.

Wishing you, your families and businesses all the very best for the coming days, weeks and months.

Stay Safe,

Mags Clark,
Executive Director, BUAS

The Border Union Show

The Border Union Show is the highlight of the event and agricultural calendar for the Scottish Borders and Northumberland. The Annual Show is held on the last Friday and Saturday of July in the Borders Events Centre on the outskirts of the pretty cobbled town of Kelso.

The show is a traditional farming show with over 500 open competitions for horses, livestock and industrial arts. There are over 200 trade stands for everything you could imagine from tractors and farm supplies to clothing and food outlets. Our fantastic Food Fair welcomes producers from throughout Scotland and far beyond whilst the Craft & Gift Marquee is a treasure trove of unique and special gifts.

The children’s fun fair is the ideal place for the kids to blow off steam. There are catering outlets with tempting treats including seafood, crepes and the ever popular burger and chips. Of course, it wouldn’t be a good agricultural show without a bar or two.

We are busy finalising details for the main ring entertainment and very much look forward to making announcements very soon. To keep up with all the latest developments, follow “Border Union, Kelso” on facebook.

It certainly promises to be a great day out for everyone!
