Visit the show

The Border Union Show is the highlight of the event and agricultural calendar for the Scottish Borders and Northumberland. The Annual Show is held on the last Friday and Saturday of July on the outskirts of the pretty cobbled town of Kelso.

The show is a traditional farming show with over 500 open competitions for horses, livestock and industrial arts. With around 200 trade stands for everything you could imagine from tractors and farm supplies to clothing and food outlets. Our fantastic Food Fair welcomes producers from all over Scotland and beyond. The Craft & Gift Marquee is a treasure trove of unique and special gifts.

There are various bits of entertainment for children including the fun fair which is the ideal place for the kids to blow off steam. There are catering outlets with tempting treats including crepes and the ever popular fish and chips. Of course, it wouldn’t be a good agricultural show without a bar or two.

Gates open at 7am with main activities getting underway from 9am.

Activities and tradestands close at 5pm on Friday and 5.30pm on Saturday.

The public car park located just a stones throw from the show ground, and will be £5 per car. There is a free, regularly running shuttle bus to and from the car park and the showground.

BUAS does not take responsibility for vehicles.

Yes.

  • Our car parking is suitable for those with disabilities as well as wheel chair users.
  • Permanent loos with wheelchair access
  • Grounds are grass and track but level

Single registered carer is granted free admission for each full paying ticket holder.

Yes. Dogs are welcome to the event provided they are kept on leads and under control at all times.

We do not recommend that dogs are left in cars. The SSPCA will be in attendance and will take action should a dog be found to be in distress.

Yes, we have a whole host of catering outlets from salad bars to burger vans. You can also bring a picnic.

On Friday, we have our Horse and Pony classes.

On Saturday, we have equine classes and all of our livestock sections including cattle, sheep and goats.
